Abdominoplasty was the sixth most performed cosmetic surgery by ASPS member surgeons in 2004.

ASPS member surgeons performed 107,019 tummy tuck proced ures in 2004, a 6 % increase from the previous year.

Patients aged 19 to 34 made up 24% of the total tummy tuck procedures with 25,684 procedures, a 23% increase from the previous year.

Patients aged 35 to 50 made up 53% of the total tummy tuck procedures with 56,720 procedures, a 3% increase from the previous year.

Patients aged 51 to 64 made up 20% of the total tummy tuck procedures with 21,404 procedures, a 6% increase from the previous year.

Patients aged 65 and over made up 3% of the total tummy tuck procedures with 3,211 procedures, a 33% decrease from the previous year.

The national average surgeon/physician fee for tummy tuck among ASPS member surgeons in 2004 was $4,505. All members in total charged
